Reblogging these photos of the leaders of the Philippine Revolutionary Army on a spread of an American newspaper dated 1900. One of those photo ops of the leaders of the first Republic in Asia.
This partly gives us a glimpse of how the American media saw these ‘insurgents.’ Not all Americans, however, approved of the U.S. forced acquisition of the Philippines.

This piece was done for one of my classes where we had to mash-up two different styles. I chose to mash-up Bioshock and Steamboat Willie. I did a lot of research into different postures that characters had, along with researching what characters could be combined. Super fun project and I’m very proud of the finished product =D
